On April 20th 2014 (08:00 am – 08:00 pm) ; at The Crescent ( Crescent Lake ) – Nguyen Van Linh – Phu My Hung – District 7 – HCMC, Earth Day program was held successfully by Green Talk – an environmental project under the Union of UNESCO Vietnam along with the companionship of Bridgestone Vietnam Ltd, Co, Phu My Hung Development Corporation and others. This event is the most “remarkable” in the chain of environmental activities throughout 2014 of project . As an inspiration for ” A day for Vietnam” highlighted by the performance of ” Flashmob calling for 50,000 fingerprints commit not to litter a day “, Photo Contest Marathon on the theme of environment and certainly of ” Green Hour ” – a distinguished tradition of Green Talk – has created a purely voluntary spirit and exerted a significant impact on human awareness of the environment.
Officially in cooperation with Earth Day Network , Green Talk crave to establish AN EARTH DAY FOR VIETNAM, when we join hands with the world and maintain it as an annual event . Earth Day, along with its meaningful activities and interesting games, proves to be a beneficent event for environmental lovers in Vietnam .

At 9 am , when the sound of the song ” 12 gio ” echoes through the corridors, flashmob team with the presence of  Mr. Truong Nam Thanh was well-prepared for an energetic and dynamic performance. The choreography was steady, harmonious, rhythmic , fluid ; sometimes strong with background music tracks respectively  are ” 12 gio ” , ” Khoang troi cua be” , ” Vietnam oi” conveying a vital message . That life can not be peaceful forever if human keep maintaining their crass behaviour towards environmental exploitation. Let’s work together to save the world, just as we are saving ourselves.

Also a beneficent activity alongside with flashmob was “calling for 50,000 fingerprints commit not to litter a day “. Each fingerprint printed onto the white canvas, as everyone reminds themselves of their responsibilities towards the environment . Let’s protect the environment through the smallest and most practical actions, simply like not littering .

As a tradition of Green Talk , Green Hour activities started when the clock pointed 9.30 sharp , all Earth Day volunteers was well-prepared. Not only is an action for the environment , Green Talk also includes the competitiveness among teams to see who earn the most ” products ” through activities propagating plastic bags , discarded plastic bottle , … to receive biodegradable bags ( BB ) . Launch time , each team spread around the routes , to each household to change bags and send out leaflets on the harmful effects of plastic bags on human and the environment . What is more, bicycle team also promote their role in encouraging the use of vehicles that do not produce exhaust fumes . Their forehead was dripping with sweat . Their face was red of sun rays . But there is no lack of smiles .

Beside the traditional Green Talk booth selling biodegradable bags , today’s event also include food booth and leaflet exchanged booth . Especially are fresh vegetables and organic products booth of Green Youth Collective , Turtle Backpack booth , DCOH Center booth . When the inorganic waste is poisoning the environment like this , working our ways back to recycling , using “friendly ” products are very necessary.

Once again , the song “Khoang troi cua be” by acoustic guitar and sign languages ​​reverberated while retaining its meaning and beauty .

“Marathon Photo Contest” ,began at 9:00 to 21:00 same day, in order to preserve Viet Nam beautiful moments through theme ” We do not inherit the Earth from our acestors; we borrow it from our children” has officially found its rightful winner.

Belongs in Earth Day chain of events, with nearly 200 registry form from round 1, 12 brilliant contestants stepped into the final round and a winner was found. “Marathon Photograph competition” brought an exciting playground to all photograpg and environment lovers. As the event slogan : “IT’S NOT ABOUT WINNING OR LOSING, IT’S ABOUT JOINING WITH US TO BRING ABOUT A MEANINGFUL DAY FOR VIET NAM”
