PHẠM HỒNG HIẾU and LÊ NHẬT HUY- The two Green Talk’s leaders connect HCMC and Bình Dương for the “Green Journey”

There is only a few days left until the second National Green Hour occurs. After a very active year with several useful activities for the young generation, Green Talk 2014 is getting closer to the end of its journey. After its remarkable achievements, Green Talk expects the National Green Hour – its last shot will spread the spirit and green messages not only to HCMC but also to every other cities of Vietnam.

The second National Green Hour (2014) will be held on May 4th, 2014, at 7 locations which are: Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng, Huế, Bình Dương, HCMC, Vũng Tàu and Kiên Giang. A highlight in this event is the Green Journey starting from HCMC to Bình Dương, whose leaders will be Phạm Hồng Hiếu (HCMC) and Lê Nhật Huy (Bình Dương).

As interviewed for the reasons joining Green Talk, Nhật Huy (1994 – sophomore at HUFLIT University) said: “I joined Green Talk because this is a very meaningful activity not just to me only but also to the community as it calls for environmentally friendly actions.” As for Hồng Hiếu (born in Quãng Ngãi – junior at Foreign Trade University), he expressed that Green Talk’s slogan – “Keep silent or speak up” has urged him to contribute to this project. He said: “Green Talk admits the fact that the Vietnamese are neglectful of their duty towards the public environment and just care for their own habitat. Green Talk initiates the “Speak up” message and stops the “Keep silent” part, which really motivates me to attend.

The two boys also shared their memorable moments while working with Green Talk Project.

Phạm Hồng Hiếu – from Quảng Ngãi works at Green Talk as an event member and currently is the manager of logistics department. He said that working in this exciting area has trained him to be more careful and punctual. In the weekly events, his attention has been drawn to a very enthusiastic girl who volunteered to work every week. She thoroughly explained every single detail to other people and her skin seems to be tanned because of too much voluntary work. “I still haven’t caught her name yet, but what she’s been doing made me realize how much I love voluntary work and I want to dedicate much more.”

Having been noticing Green Talk’s activities since last November on Facebook and learning about the project, Nhật Huy – from Bình Dương finally applied to work in Green Talk as an Event member, and then transferred to PR team.

Though the transfer made him lose contact with some friends in the project, Huy still wants to say that working with the 2 teams has been a great experience for him because of very ‘adorable’ and friendly partners. What he likes most about PR team is that sometimes they have such ‘epic’ ideas. Despite the fact that they had to discuss and argue so many times, Huy enjoyed the working environment that not only helped him improve his practical experience but also helped everybody move closer to each other. An open environment will comfort everyone in it.

Huy always remembers the Green Hour on April 20th, when everyone was working hard outdoor at the Crescent and ended up having sunburned skin. After spending one day on organizing the event altogether, he could understand how hard-working everybody was, no matter how exhausting it was, they all showed the brightest faces until the very end, especially the PR team.

In this event on May 4th, Huy will join as the leader for Green Talk Bình Dương – one of the 7 crucial cities in the National Green Hour 2014.

“This could be the last Green Hour for me to be together with the team in this year. We only have 2 final weeks to work with each other. Shall we head our own ways after this? Right now, I am looking back to what we have been doing for such a long time, I really am proud of our ‘stubbornness’ for sticking to this project for such a long time”, Huy said.

After all these precious moments and experiences achieved from the project and other members, both Huy and Hiếu are strongly raising their hope: no matter where they will be, they’d still remember each other as family members, brothers and sisters who have been working and running events together, and above all, they’d always spread the great message of the project. Let’s join hands to protect the environment, “Keep Silent or Speak up”, it depends on you.
